GeoTech Career Opportunities to Consider

Hopefully by now you’ve had a chance to check out our new career resource (now in its second month) at GeoJobsBIZ. There’s been about 200 opportunities listed and the growth has been steady in visits and users. – The person filling this position will be part of a Geographic Information Technology (GIT) team that works on a diverse set of geographic information system (GIS), web and desktop programming activities in service of a wide variety of users.

– In general, the prime responsibility is the ownership and delivery of the company technology strategy. This strategy breaks down into the 3 main functional areas

– The Corporate GIS Manager for the Bureau of Technology Services manages the technical team that builds and operates the City’s Enterprise GIS program. This position will use their experience working with enterprise GIS products, including those from ESRI. The Corporate GIS Manager is responsible for managing the team and budget that support over 1,000 ArcGIS enabled desktops, and online products such as PortlandMaps

– Build a comprehensive marketing and sales strategy that includes but not limited to: Plans and implements sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates

– Leverage your consultative sales experience to strengthen the success of Esri technology in state and local government agencies. An energetic and resourceful individual is needed to drive strategic conversations with all levels of contacts to promote and secure training packages. Your partnership with the account team will result in Esri customers being more efficient and empowered to fully take advantage of ArcGIS.
