Collobos Software Releases Presto, Print Server Software to Support Mobile Printing in Enterprise

SAN FRANCISCO–Collobos Software, today announces the release of Presto, the first enterprise ready software print server solution for iOS, Android, and Chrome OS. Presto has been designed from the ground up to run in the most demanding enterprise environments and supports printing from the most popular mobile platforms.

“Perhaps not everyone has had to manually manage 100+ printers across 2 campuses”

Presto Enterprise solves 3 fundamental problems that mobile users and network administrators find when printing in enterprise.

  • Enterprise AirPrint – Presto solves the enterprise AirPrint problem by implementing unicast DNS service discovery. With Presto, there is no longer a need for expensive hardware or manually configured DNS zone files to support enterprise AirPrint.
  • Active Directory Integration – IT administrators can integrate mobile printing with their Active Directory infrastructure with a single click. Presto makes it easy.
  • BYOD – Presto supports printing from all the major mobile platforms. It’s the single software solution that simplifies mobile printing.

Presto’s features give IT professionals broad printing compatibility in both a traditional PC based infrastructure and a bring your own device mobile printing world. Its agnostic approach ensures it is compatible with AirPrint and non-AirPrint enabled printers, legacy non-wireless printers, and network printers. This allows businesses to extend the lifetime of their printer investments. “With the world workforce increasingly turning to mobile, Collobos sees a tremendous need to develop products that enhance mobility. Our mantra is to build products that solve real problems and are simple to use. With Presto, IT folks can start it up and then forget it’s even running,” said Scott Herscher, founder and CEO. “All anyone will know is now they can print from their iPads, iPhones, Android and Chrome OS devices.”

"Perhaps not everyone has had to manually manage 100+ printers across 2 campuses,” said Damian Jackson, IT administrator for a Melbourne school. “They might not appreciate how simple the task is made by a product like Presto." Presto is an ideal solution for literally millions of businesses in the U.S. and worldwide spanning all industries from enterprise to SMB and professional services, retail, and education.
