IMAGINiT Technologies Launches Utilities for Civil 3D 2014

Utilities for Civil 3D offers Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D users enhanced functionality including Google Maps

Framingham, MA ― July 17, 2013 — Rand Worldwide (OTCBB: RWWI), a global leader in providing technology solutions to organizations with engineering design and information technology requirements, today announced that its IMAGINiT Technologies division has released the new Import from Google Utility and Point Station and Offset Report Utility for IMAGINiT’s Utilities for Civil 3D. In addition to the new Utilities, IMAGINiT has also enhanced the existing AutoOffset Utility to include compatibility with the 2014 version of Autodesk Civil 3D.

“IMAGINiT’s success in developing over 20 popular utilities for the building and manufacturing sectors has made designers and engineers using Civil 3D request similar time-saving applications,” says Bob Heeg, executive vice president, IMAGINiT Technologies. “Our seasoned development team has now developed new Civil 3D specific utilities that will allow team members to focus on the high-value work while minimizing manual and repetitive tasks.”

New Utilities available for Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014

IMAGINiT Utilities for Civil 3D are specifically designed to alleviate the burden of low-value work such as manual calculations and sifting through large amounts of geographic and topographic data.

Import from Google reunites Google Maps and Civil 3D. Civil engineers can once again, using data from Google Maps, import color, geo-referenced images as well as terrain model surfaces that can be used to determine land use, basic topography, basic cut and fill volume calculations, profiles, and cross sections.

Almost all civil engineering projects are based on existing topography and related information, making Import from Google an essential tool for Civil 3D. Now engineers can quickly and easily complete a preliminary analysis of a site, doing in minutes what would normally take hours of research and possibly even an aerial survey– saving both the time and related costs.

Point Station and Offset Report identifies the station and offset points relative to an alignment and writes them to a report or an ASCII file. The level of detail provided by this Utility offers unsurpassed flexibility and reduces the amount of manual calculation and editing from hours to minutes.

Enhancements to IMAGINiT Utilities for Civil 3D

AutoOffset is a ‘must have’ utility for municipal engineers and consultants who work with linear design along roads where there is a need to identify and label significant topography points (trees, structures, markers, etc.) from survey data points.

This Utility allows users to understand potential design conflicts as well as restore items that were within the right of way to their original location upon completion of work. Now with full compatibility with the 2014 version of Civil 3D, AutoOffset continues to provide significant time savings, by automating label creation and editing to produce time savings of days on a large project.

Availability and Pricing

The three innovative utilities which extend the power of Civil 3D software are bundled together. IMAGINiT Utilities for Civil 3D are available for purchase in Standalone, $345 (US), or Named-User, $399 (US), versions. As an introductory offer, IMAGINiT is providing Utilities for Civil 3D for free via the ProductivityNOW Portal to clients who purchased an Autodesk subscription with IMAGINiT.

IMAGINiT Technologies has a long history of creating productivity software that brings new value to Autodesk products, such as Scan to BIM, IMAGINiT Clarity, and IMAGINiT Clarity Workshare. With experts who are focused on design technology automation and customization, IMAGINiT is both an Autodesk Authorized Developer and a member of the Autodesk Developer Network.
