viaEuropa Cloud to feature in UK Government’s G-Cloud III framework

May 10, 2013 By Editor

Europa Technologies has today announced that a new version of its award-winning viaEuropa hosted map service has been accepted into G-Cloud III, the latest edition of the UK Government’s cloud computing framework. G-Cloud enables public sector bodies to easily and cost-effectively procure services in a number of different cloud technology categories.

The new viaEuropa Cloud map service is hosted from UK data centres and backed by a service level agreement (SLA).The service will deliver Ordnance Survey base maps for use by the public sector in a wide range of different applications spanning web, desktop and mobile platforms for either internal or public-facing mapping applications. Unlike some other hosted map services, the viaEuropa platform is able to support a wide range of different technologies, making it easy to deploy within existing software environments with minimal effort.

viaEuropa Cloud is available in a variety of service capacities, ranging from a single user to an organisation-wide deployment. It also removes the barrier of long-term commitment with a monthly rolling contract.

Warren Vick, Founder &Director of Europa Technologies comments: “The new viaEuropa Cloud is the first version of our popular hosted map service to be available on cloud architecture and we are delighted to see it included in G-Cloud III. It reinforces the Government’s desire to see a wider range of cloud services, including those from SMEs like Europa Technologies, being made more accessible to public sector users through a simplified and faster approach to procurement".
