InfoNet and InfoNet Mobile V13.5 Bolster Asset Performance and Condition Assessment Through Improved Visibility and Greater Analytics

Broomfield, Colorado USA, March 19, 2013 — Innovyze, a leading global innovator of business analytics software and technologies for smart wet infrastructure, today announced the release of InfoNet and InfoNet Mobile V13.5, a comprehensive set of water, wastewater, and storm water smart asset performance and condition modeling applications. The latest release adds significant customer-requested functionality that improves the software’s business analytics and data management tools. Together, they give utilities more ways to lengthen the useful life of their assets, streamline operations, optimize capital planning, improve system performance, and provide high levels of customer service.

InfoNet is a purpose-built asset management modeling and data analysis system for water distribution, wastewater collection and stormwater networks. Among its many advantages, the software enables users to view, manage, integrate, validate, analyze and report on their network data to obtain accurate, up-to-date, auditable information on network infrastructure and performance. With formats that are easy to use and comprehend, InfoNet ensures well-informed, swift, cost-effective and action-oriented decision making for both day-to-day operational management and long-term network planning. To gain the clearest possible picture of their network infrastructures, users can integrate a host of applications and data sets they already use, including generic GIS, corporate databases, maintenance management systems, field data systems, SCADA, hydraulic modeling/analysis software and other corporate applications. The software can also directly integrate to the powerful Esri (Redlands, CA) ArcGIS (9.x-10.x) platform.

InfoNet allows engineers to analyze all aspects of the network life cycle. They can call on its robust query engine to filter, sort, and make complex selections based on criteria related to their underground assets. They also have the unique ability to query against field surveys (CCTV, manhole inspections, smoke testing, valve inspections, etc.) and other events related to network assets, allowing them to implement a “fix before break” maintenance and repair strategy that improves operational efficiency and quality of service and keeps assets performing at peak condition while making the most of limited budgets.

Support for national survey standards from around the world has been enhanced by extended support for the Belgian BEFDSS data exchange format. In addition, the new version more closely integrates the analysis of CCTV survey defects with the scheduling and management of pipe repair and rehabilitation activities. To provide even more powerful data analysis, the InfoNet query engine has been enhanced to support spatially driven queries.

User productivity is further improved by configurable menus and toolbars for frequently used operations and a flexible new print layout facility that allows users to customize the look of printed output. The InfoNet geospatial environment also lets users create vivid thematic maps with flexible symbology and rich detail. Its built-in report generator not only comes with dozens of standard reports, but allows users to quickly build custom reports and graphs against any piece of data stored in the system.

InfoNet Mobile provides users with a complete field management solution. Its mobile technology links field workers seamlessly and securely to InfoNet asset and data management software, improving efficiency and accuracy of information. Field staff have all the information they need onsite, avoiding double-handling of data.

For water distribution networks, InfoNet Mobile V13.5 adds support for scheduling and management of valve shut-off activities both in the office and in the field. For wastewater networks, new mobile digitization and GPS tools simplify the process of surveying unmapped assets. Mobile activities are further enhanced by access to internet mapping services in the field. Improved communications performance and unattended synchronization of field devices add to the productivity gains for mobile users.

The enhancements offered by InfoNet and InfoNet Mobile V13.5 further the Innovyze tradition of making powerful smart asset management tools available to an increasingly wider range of users, from water and wastewater utilities to engineering and management consulting firms. The release includes a number of new features that extend the products’ range, as along with powerful extensions to their analytic capabilities and specific enhancements to user productivity.

“Utilities worldwide face the constant challenge of renewing and replacing aging and failing drinking water and wastewater network assets with limited resources,” said Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D., BCEEM, Hon.D.WRE, Dist.D.NE, F.ASCE, President and Chief Operating Officer of Innovyze. “InfoNet and InfoNet Mobile offer critical capabilities for meeting this challenge. Their comprehensive asset management, advanced analytics and data collection and analysis capabilities empower utilities to better assess and understand current conditions, predict and fix problems before they occur, strengthen their infrastructures in a phased manner, reduce their operational and capital spending, meet service expectations and regulatory requirements, and put their systems on the road to sustainability.”
