Modernizing Communication System Decreases Costs and Increases Mobility and Collaboration for 1000 Employees
MECHELEN, Belgium, Feb. 12, 2013 — Mitel(R)
(Nasdaq:MITL) (TSX:MNW), a leading provider of cloud and premises based
unified communications software solutions, today announced that the
Flemish Environment Agency (VMM) is rolling out the Mitel
Communications Director (MCD) platform across its thirteen offices. VMM
is an agency of the Flemish Government with a mandate to sustain the
environment in Flanders. The deployment of the new communication
system, implemented and managed by Mitel partner Inia, has been
designed to save the government money, simplify management and enhance
communication and collaboration for the agency’s 1,000 employees.
VMM’s upgrade was driven partly in response to growing demand from
employees for tools that provide increased mobility and better
collaboration with colleagues regardless of their location. By
replacing its legacy communication platform with the advanced
capabilities of the MCD platform, VMM employees can more easily and
cost effectively work together across the agency.
