AND offers the AND API Service to Moovit a free app for community-based public transport navigation
Rotterdam, 27 February 2013 – AND partners with Israelian Moovit to power location and routing in Moovit, the free community-based public transport app for the smartphones. Moovits unique live data is generated by the user community, who anonymously contributes real time information on their public transport route. The Moovit app has been launched in over 27 large metropolitan areas worldwide and is available for iPhone and Android application stores.

Moovit helps users to navigate the best route based on live community-generated info as well as other data sources. The dynamic estimated time of arrival are adjusted live during the trip and users can monitor their vehicle as it approaches live on the map. The trip planner chooses the best route from among different public transport methods (bus, train, tram and underground) according to community-reported real time conditions. Further, users can receive and send crowd-sourced reports for delays, overcrowding on the vehicle or at the station, line and driver rankings, and more.
Moovit was launched in Israel on March 2012, and became the leading and fastest growing public transportation app, accumulating over 250,000 users within a few months. In October 2012, moovit started international roll out to and is currently operating in over 27 large metropolises in U.S.A., Europe and Latin America (New York, Washington, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco (Bay area), Toronto, Vancouver , Rome, Milano, Torino, Madrid, Sao Paulo, and more).
