USGS Comments, Mission Accomplished for Landsat 5 After 29 Years

IT seems that like the Eveready Bunny, Landsat 5 just keeps in ticking… however, according to the USGS it may be that time has run its course for Landsat 5 and retirement is now looming near. This from the USGS…  Landsat 5 will be decommissioned over the coming months, bringing to a close the longest-operating Earth observing satellite mission in history.  By any measure, the Landsat 5 mission has been an extraordinary success, providing unprecedented contributions to the global record of land change.
