Holiday Travel Tip – Most Costly Airports To Fly Out Of 2012

Online travel website and travel experts Lets Fly Cheaper announces their result for this year’s most expensive, major U.S international airports to travel in and out of. The airports were ranked on the cost of a domestic, round trip air fare against the national average U.S domestic fare cost of $384.81. Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport was ranked as the most expensive airport to use in 2012 with an average domestic round trip fare coming in at $517.50. Washington’s Dulles International was a close second with an average, round trip fare of $504.20.

  2. Washing Dulles International Airport – $504.20
  3. Newark Liberty International Airport – $480.30

  6. Los Angeles International Airport – $418.00
  7. Philadelphia International Airport – $412.50
  8. Charlotte Douglas International Airport KCLT – $410.00
  9. New York Kennedy International Airport – $405.50
  10. Chicago O’Hare International Airport – $392.50
  11. Seattle Tacoma International Airport – $391.70
  12. Boston Logan International Airport – $386.60
  13. San Diego’s Lindberg International Airport – $372.80
  14. Miami International Airport -$371.80
  15. Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport – $366.60

  7. American Eagle – 81.92% on time: 7,781 flights cancelled
  8. SkyWest Airlines – 82.55% on time: 7,662 flights cancelled
  9. Southwest Airlines – 83.89% on time: 6,159 flights cancelled
  10. Mesa Airlines – 85.05% on time: 1,253 flights cancelled
  11. Delta Airlines – 86.34% on time: 2,002 flights cancelled
  12. US Airways – 86.27% on time: 1,945 flights cancelled
  13. Air Tran – 87.36% on time: 723 flights cancelled
