Side by Side – Nokia Lumia 920 VS Windows Phone 8X HTC

September 19, 2012 By Editor

This week Microsoft with HTC and Microsoft unveiled the Windows Phone 8X HTC, HTC’s first Windows Phone 8 smartphones. Surprisingly (or not) the device may initially remind you of the Nokia Lumia series, in particular the Lumia 920 – there’s also been some buzz about this on Twitter today, case in point, this Tweet from Nokia EVP Sales and Marketing USA Chis Weber:

Interesting that HTC is calling it the “Windows Phone 8X” as if it is “THE” Windows phone and then factor in that Microsoft also took to the stage recently with Nokia to launch their own Windows Phone 8 devices, most notably the Lumia 920.  For now, people are crying copycat, and indeed, there’s many notable similarities, however, in time I think some compelling features will differentiate these and other devices, most notably the Purview technology found in the Lumia camera, maps and navigation where I’m confident the Lumia devices will shine, killer audio and HD video capabilities, the strong build, and other features (like wireless charging) and functionality… these are areas where Nokia (Lumia) will shine. Honestly, my past experiences with HTC hardware didn’t have me drooling!

For now, check out a few side by side specs and I’ll have to wait to get these in my hands to have more information to share.
