MoSync Announces Collaboration with InMobi to Enable HTML5/JavaScript Developers to Use In-App Advertisements in Cross-Platform Native Mobile Apps

MoSync AB, a leading provider of cross-platform tools used by web developers to create native mobile applications, today announces partner collaboration with InMobi, the largest independent mobile ad network, to enable in-app advertisements using JavaScript directly from the MoSync development environment.

Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) July 23, 2012MoSync has added support for InMobi’s JavaScript Advertisement application programming interface (API) in the MoSync development environment. HTML5/ JavaScript developers can easily create native mobile apps that display InMobi banner ads by using MoSync’s developer tools. MoSync Reload and the MoSync software development kit (SDK) are available for download at http://www.mosync.com.

Many application developers today find it hard to make sufficient money on app download sales and are therefore exploring other, complementary business models. In-app advertising is a way to monetize their apps, either as an alternative way to fund their development work, or to subsidize the app download price or subscription cost for users. According to a recent report by Juniper Research (“Mobile Advertising – Messaging, In-App and Mobile Internet Strategies 2012-2017”), in-app advertising spend across all mobile devices will reach $7.1 billion by 2015.

The collaboration between MoSync and InMobi removes the headaches for developers to sign legal agreements with multiple platform providers to be able to display ads cross-platform.

“It was very straight-forward and easy to add support for InMobi’s JavasScript Advertisement API within the MoSync development environment,” says Alex Jonsson, Chief Technical Officer at MoSync. “InMobi’s platform-independent mobile ad network and MoSync’s rich cross-platform development environment make for a logical and mutually beneficial partner collaboration, which enables developers to easily integrate mobile ad functionality into their HTML5 apps across multiple platforms in one go, including Android, iOS and Windows Phone.”

“We are excited about our partnership with MoSync and the opportunity to enable the vibrant community of MoSync developers to monetize their apps by leveraging the InMobi mobile advertising network globally,” says Patrick Pettay, Head of App Developer Business Development, EMEA at InMobi.

InMobi currently reaches 578 million consumers in 165 countries across five continents. MoSync developers can sign up for an account with InMobi at http://www.inmobi.com/partners/MoSync.

In order to help developers get started, MoSync has written a tutorial for HTML5 and JavaScript developers with step-by-step instructions and example code which explain how they can integrate banner ads from InMobi into their MoSync HTML5 application. The tutorial is available at http://www.mosync.com/documentation/manualpages/app-advertisement-javascript-developers.
