Latin America Geospatial Forum 2012 brochure launched in Rio

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, 31 May 2012: Geospatial Media & Comunicação Ltda. successfully held a Launch Function of Latin America Geospatial Forum 2012 and GeoIntelligence Latin America 2012. Both the events will be held parallel to each other at Sul America Convention Centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 15 – 17 August, 2012(LAGF) and 16-17 August, 2012(GeoIntelligence Latin America).

The event was attended by eminent personalities from the Latin American Geospatial industry. Delegates present at the launch were able to network and share their views with each other before the conference.

On the occasion Natália M. Rodrigues, Assistant Regional Manager – Latin America, Geospatial Media & Comunicação Ltda. said, “It is very encouraging to see such a wonderful response from our partners and speakers. The Launch has set the tempo for the conference in August. We are confident that Latin America Geospatial Forum 2012 will prove to be the perfect platform bringing the geospatial industry together to discuss, ideate, and address important aspects relevant to the Latin American Geospatial Industry. Latin America Geospatial Forum 2012 organised by Geospatial Media & Comunicação in association with IBGE, Brasil is the second international conference on geospatial technologies and applications which aims at bringing together decision-makers, developers, researchers and application users to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, experiences and concerns in the field of geospatial. With the theme Actionable Knowledge for Sustainable Development, the conference will focus on how the use of geospatial technology in various sectors like Energy, Land Administration, Mining and Exploration, Agriculture, Urban Planning, and Transport and Infrastructure will lay a ground for sustainable development in each of the sectors contributing to overall growth. The presence of eminent speakers from key government agencies, major user organisations and leading technology providing companies from the entire Latin American region the conference will make it a unique not-to-be-missed event ( http://www.lagf.org/2012/speakers.htm).

Geospatial Media & Comunicação Ltda. will also organize a parallel conference—GeoIntelligence Latin America from 16-17 August 2012 at Sul America Convention Centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in association with Board of Army geographical Service, Brazil.  The two day conference will have interactive sessions bringing military, security officials, government, industry and consultants together to a platform to discuss and deliberate on significant and vibrant role of GIS in field of defence and homeland security. It will also facilitate discussion on how existing and upcoming geospatial technologies can help to protect and maintain the nation’s security (http://www.lagf.org/2012/geointelligence/index.htm).
