GOLDSBORO, N.C. – The City of Titusville, Florida has a population of just over 40,000 people and is nicknamed Space City, USA because of its proximity to NASA.  The city is high-tech with many high-tech residents.  Over the last decade Titusville has been hit by numerous hurricanes.  In each case, their emergency operations center (EOC) was activated.  Titusville continues to leverage technology to make sure that the city is doing all it can to protect its citizenry and provide top notch services.  In regards to the EOC, GIS has been made available to assist in pre-disaster planning and post-disaster recovery.
