Topcon & Orbit sign worldwide agreement at Intergeo 2011

Capelle a/d IJssel, the Netherlands – September 29, 2011 – Topcon Europe Positioning (TEP) and Orbit GeoSpatial Technologies (Orbit GT) signed an agreement through which Topcon will resell Orbit GT’s mobile mapping software solutions around the globe as a part of Topcon’s leading IP-S2 portfolio.

"We are very excited to be able to sign this agreement with Topcon," said Peter Bonne, vice president of business development and senior product manager at Orbit GT. "This deal will help IP-S2 users around the world to better and faster capture features and relevant content from raw mobile mapping data. Together with Topcon’s leadership in the mobile mapping business, we believe we can offer the perfect solution to the mobile mapping community."

Topcon’s IP-S2 systems are high-tech mobile mapping data gathering systems, designed to capture geographically related environment information, quickly and simply. In combination with Orbit AIM software solution, data can be analysed, interpreted and specific content extracted effortlessly.

"As a result of the collabaration between Topcons IP-S2 and Orbit AIM software, recording and interpreting geographical information is now up to ten times faster," said Ulrich Hermanski, European sales and marketing director at Topcon Europe Positioning, "we are making Mobile Mapping easily available and accessible for all users."

Sander Jongeleen, business development manager for mobile mapping at TEP said, "We can safely say that the collaboration between Orbit Geospatial Technologies and Topcon Europe Positioning will result in a unique turnkey solution for Mobile Mapping."
