Skyline Software Systems Announces the Release of New TerraBuilder and TerraGate v6 Products

Herndon, VA (August 12, 2011) – Skyline Software Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the formal  release of the newest versions of several core components of the SkylineGlobe Suite, TerraBuilder v6 and TerraGate v6.  These product updates follow the recent TerraExplorer v6.0 release.  The release of version v6 represents a substantial evolution of the SkylineGlobe Enterprise suite of geospatial visualization, data fusion and dissemination products.

The Skyline TerraBuilder v6.0, terrain generation product, has been dramatically improved to offer increased performance and simplified use.   With the implementation of the new MPT v3.0 terrain format, data production time is been decreased significantly (from prior versions) allowing faster handling of large imagery and elevation data sets and the new architecture allows users to better utilize distributing computing capabilities to share the processing load across multiple servers and processor cores.   A revised ribbon-based user interface makes using the software even more user-friendly. 

Skyline has introduced a new feature to the TerraBuilder product, the TerraCatalog, to assist users managing data sources.  The TerraCatalog database, to organizes and stores connections to imagery, elevations and project sources allowing users a simple way to browse, search and sort their stored data sources.

The Skyline TerraGate v6 also represents a significant advancement in development.  In addition to supporting the new MPT v3.0 format and v6 TerraBuilder projects, TerraGate v6 has support for the deployment of geographically distributed TerraGate servers.  Each TerraGate server can provide data for different sections of a project and manage database caches for sections handled by other TerraGate servers.  This function allows users to fly though a project with different TerraGates serving different parts of the project seamlessly.  This function allows enterprise level management and scalability, while providing high-level availability and bandwidth optimization. 

Additionally, TerraGate v6 has added support for many new formats and data standards, including Catalog Web Service (CS-W), Transactional Web Feature Service (WFS-T) and full OGC Web Map Service (WMS) and Web Feature Service (WFS).
