This latest social news map from Esri is designed to help the public stay informed of hurricane related information and social media updates.
Currently monitoring and tracking Irene, the social news map pulls real time Twitter feeds (on the hashtag #Irene) as well as other social media posts from YouTube and Flickr. Additional data feeds are being pulled from NOAA (hurricane track) as well as precipitation and storm surge data. Users can also optionally display data layers showing last years storm tracks and current active storms.
