Oil, Gas, and Energy GIS Users Invited to Esri PUG Conference

April 14, 2011 By Editor

Redlands, California—April 14, 2011—The Esri Petroleum User Group Conference (PUG) will meet April 18–21, 2011, in Houston, Texas, to showcase the applications and innovations of geographic information system (GIS) technology for oil, gas, and alternative energy.

Speakers will show how GIS can secure the future of energy, from borehole to burner tip. GIS technology specialists will demonstrate how GIS is a comprehensive system that brings business value to activities in the field, in the office, and on the Internet. Participants will see ways GIS supports

  • Oil and gas exploration, production, and distribution operations
  • Planning and analysis for improved decision making
  • Regulatory compliance and reporting
  • Business continuity and efficiency

“PUG is the world’s largest event dedicated to GIS for petroleum this year,” said Geoff Wade, Esri’s natural resources manager. “This conference meets the needs of all levels of users and is an invaluable resource for getting focused information. We are offering a wide variety of presentation topics that address almost every aspect of the industry, from exploration to distribution.”

Attendees will find more business value from their GIS and discover ways of improving their companies’ efficiency and decision making. They will also be able to connect with Esri’s technical experts and partners and build a professional network.

PUG registration is open until April 21, 2011.
