THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.- Eka Technologies, Inc., today announced FotoSpot and FotoMapr geo-tagging digital camera peripherals.     “For the advanced photographer or GIS professional, the FotoMapr series is a cost-effective way to professionally geo-tag and notate images for use in their mapping platforms”

“Personal photos are more than just images,” said Arun Madhav, Chief Executive Officer, Eka Technologies, Inc. “They’re memories. Memories that becomes more important over time, while the details surrounding the taking of the shots fade. Our new FotoSpot Wi-Fi model provides consumers with an easy-to-use, inexpensive way to add the photo location and shot direction to images created with virtually any digital camera. Photos geo-tagged with FotoSpot can then be uploaded via USB interface and used with any of today’s popular PC, Mac and Internet photo mapping software.

“For the advanced photographer or GIS professional, the FotoMapr series is a cost-effective way to professionally geo-tag and notate images for use in their mapping platforms," added Mr. Madhav. “Without compromising DSLR image quality and performance, field professionals using Nikon, Ricoh and other DSLR cameras, can now geo-tag and notate every image with precise GPS and user data.”

Bluetooth wireless (B-100) and cabled (C-100) versions are available for use with select NIKON and RICOH cameras.

FotoMapr, Eka’s professional-grade geo-tagging camera peripheral, is designed for GIS (geographic information system) professionals for use in Geo-Photo workflow applications. Embedding shot location and direction data, FotoMapr also enables user notation of digital images.

FotoMapr’s Wi-Fi model (W-100) is designed for use with DSLR cameras supporting SDHC data card storage.
