ATLANTA(April 13, 2011)…Woolpert announced today that Chris Chalmers, GISP, has joined the firm’s Atlanta office as a geospatial project manager.
Chalmers previously served as GIS/IT director for the Coastal Regional Commission of Georgia. He brings nearly 13 years of experience implementing regional base mapping and GIS projects, specifically those where multiple, complex funding sources are involved.
“Chris’s extensive experience managing federal, state, regional and local GIS projects will benefit our clients as we continue to provide customized, cost-efficient geospatial solutions,” said Jeff Lovin, Woolpert senior vice president and director of geospatial services. “His experience with large-scale LiDAR and aerial imagery projects, along with his ability to manage multiple funding resources for these projects, will also be a great asset to our clients.”
Chalmers has received three ESRI Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) awards for his work building a statewide enterprise public health GIS program in Nebraska and facilitating the Coastal Georgia Elevation Project, a 4,700-square-mile LiDAR project for the coast of Georgia. He has also worked as a Graduate Geography instructor and lead State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) GIS supervisor at Oklahoma State University.
