WhiteStar Streams Energy Commodity Pricing, Texas Well Permits on Homepage

January 27, 2011 By Editor

DENVER, Colo., 27 January 2011 – WhiteStar Corp., a provider of digital cartographic products and services to the energy industry, now offers instant access to streaming commodity pricing on its website at www.whitestar.com. The new WhiteStar homepage also provides free access to continuously updated Texas Well Permit Data.

“Commodity prices are streamed live to the WhiteStar website so our clients and colleagues in the energy sector can quickly view up-to-the-minute pricing for natural gas and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude without scrolling through piles of other information or registering for access,” said WhiteStar CEO Robert White.

The commodity pricing is located in the lower right corner of the WhiteStar homepage. The listing shows the latest price for WTI crude and NYMEX natural gas with a positive or negative percent daily change for each. By scrolling over the crude or gas price, the visitor can view a pop-up window detailing daily opens, lows, highs, last change, and percent change. A single mouse click accesses details of Energy Futures Contracts.

Posted just beneath the commodities is the Texas Well Permit Data, part of the new WhiteStar Permits service offered at no charge to site visitors. By clicking on the link, visitors view a map of Texas with icons showing the locations of new well permits. The map is updated daily and then wiped clean at the end of each month. Visitors may register their email address to download a monthly spreadsheet with pertinent details of new well permits. Other states will be added as part of this service.

“WhiteStar is making this valuable Texas Well Permit Data available on our website because it is a critical foundation data set for operators to use in spotting trends and planning their own exploration logistics,” said White.

The new WhiteStar website contains complete descriptions of WhiteStar Data Layers and WhiteStar Well Services that are cartographic standards for any exploration company planning a new operation or wishing to drill deeper into geospatial information for a given area of interest. The WhiteStar site is also the energy industry’s only source of Geospatial Wisdom spanning 20 years of knowledge gained and lessons learned in the oil patch.
