Several Counties Join Sidwell’s Portico GIS Web Viewer Family

December 16, 2010 By Editor

St. Charles, IL – The Sidwell Company is excited to welcome over 20 additions to the growing Portico® family. Sidwell’s Portico is a full-featured GIS web viewer that brings together the powerful spatial features of GIS with cutting edge rich user interfaces and animations, providing unprecedented ease of use, performance and visual appeal. Sidwell has eliminated the clutter of most mapping websites by incorporating a map-centric design, maximizing the map at all times. Fully cached maps provide users with blazing speed.

Portico employs simple map functions for navigating (zoom/pan) that will be familiar to users of Google Maps or Bing Maps along with stunning interface designs, smooth animation effects, mouse wheel scrolling, dynamic refreshes, track zooming and more.

Portico provides a visually rich GIS experience on all major web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) or the free Silverlight stand-alone program, with the speed that allows users to complete their searches for GIS tasks at the office, home or on the road.

Portico incorporates basic search capabilities such as searching by address, parcel number, subdivision, school district, city boundaries, etc. Portico also includes geospatial search capabilities such as buffer around a parcel, street centerline or a line drawn by the user.

Portico allows users to easily browse information in multiple parcels search results. That information can then be emailed or exported to multiple programs including Microsoft Word and Excel for mailings, project logging or further analysis. A link can also be associated with the County’s tax information allowing the user to review their tax information and pay their tax bill online.
