Rotterdam, 20 December 2010 – AND Automotive Navigation Data launches an extensive, fully geocoded Points of Interest (POI) database. The database consists of 2.5 million points and areas. Points of Interest include latitude and longitude.
The POI typically includes the physical address, name of the location, category of the POI and the geographic coordinates. Moreover, within the POI dataset areas of interest (AOIs) and city points of interest (COIs) are included. AND’s global coverage of maps makes it possible to provide these uniform and geocoded POIs. The POI dataset is commercially available against straight forward and flexible pricing.
A POI is an excellent anchor to add context. By adding relevant context such as weather info, demographics, recommendations and location patterns it will be easier to offer or push relevant information to the users.
