So, what is OGWbc? From the event planners, Open Gov West (OGW) is a network of open government supporters and practitioners, working together to foster progress on open government issues and technology throughout the US and Canada.

This event brought together a full schedule of speakers and panels who spoke on topics like the future of open, access by the community to government information and FOI, the issue of citizen participation (Crowd sourcing) and social media. Over 200 attendees were made up of government people, industry, consultants, EDU, and the vocal social media crowd.

See http://opengovwest.org/ See @opengovwest on Twitter – recall, openGov Seattle took place earlier this year in Seattle, since then OGW has grown to 10 Open Gov West meetups across the Western US and Canada. For more from the event see the Twitter hashtag #ogwbc
