Decatur, Alabama – August 16, 2010 – 3-GIS announces the release of the Express Solution Inspection Management System. By extending the functionality of 3-GIS’s Network Express and Field Express applications, the Inspection Management System provides an intuitive solution that addresses a utility’s maintenance management issues while leveraging existing GIS data.
The Express Solution Inspection Management Module utilizes Network Express, the web-based design application and Field Express Chameleon, the mobile component of the product suite to provide utility wide access to asset data. Network Express and Field Express leverage a utility’s existing GIS to provide analysis and editing tools that are simple to learn and easy to administer.
Utility supervisors can use Network Express to monitor and analyze inspection records. Network Express allows the user to view and query asset data, generate inspection history and open issue reports, generate plots, and perform complex analysis queries. Network Express also allows the user to create maintenance work orders, assign asset inspections to a work order and assign reported issues to work orders.
Technicians can utilize handheld devices and laptops running Field Express Chameleon to capture data in the field. The Inspection Management Module allows users to download inspections, zoom to assigned inspections, perform inspections, record ROW issues and use GPS to record actions. Using the camera of a handheld device, the user can also capture an image in the field and post back.
"Our integrated inspection management system addresses a need in the industry which hasn’t had a solution until now," says Eric Fulcher, Vice President of Utilities for 3-GIS. "With our Inspection Management Module, a utility can implement a logical inspection and maintenance system quickly and inexpensively."
