Quickoffice Launches Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite for Android Market

June 9, 2010 By GISuser

Available for Android devices, new productivity app provides Microsoft Office document viewing and editing, cloud storage access

Dallas, TX – June 9, 2010 – Quickoffice, Inc., the leading global provider of mobile office productivity solutions, today released its Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite for Android devices running the Éclair 2.0/2.1 and Donut 1.6 operating systems. Available in the productivity category in the Android Market, Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite provides full editing of Microsoft Office files and enables mobile cloud storage access to a variety of services, including Apple MobileMe, Google Docs, Box.net and Dropbox.

Transforming the mobile office experience, Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite seamlessly integrates access to remote cloud services within a full Office suite. Users are able to view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, including Office 97-2008 file formats, and view PDF files. Quickoffice also provides the ability to open email attachments and side load files to the SD memory card. The mobile application’s robust file manager provides folder navigation for easy selection and movement of documents. Strategic partnerships with Box.net and Dropbox allow quick access to any file stored in the cloud, so users are able to retrieve necessary information, view, edit and then save back to the repository, all without leaving the Quickoffice application.

"We’ve been shipping our viewing application on a variety of Android phones for the past year, and we’re extremely excited to launch our full-featured Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite in the Android Market," said David Halpin, vice president of engineering at Quickoffice. "Now, users of supported Android phones can purchase this powerful productivity app, and enjoy increased functionality combined with access to key cloud services."

Currently, Quickoffice is the trusted mobile office suite shipping on a variety of leading Android devices, such as the HTC Magic, DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC, DROID ERIS by HTC for Verizon Wireless, Dell Mini 3, Nexus One, Sprint HTC EVO 4G and Motorola’s CLIQ, DEXT and DROID devices. Consumers with Quickoffice pre-loaded on their Éclair or Donut phone can purchase an upgrade to include full editing and cloud access functionality from the Android Market for an introductory price of $14.99.
