Building Disaster Resiliency through an Integrated Critical Infrastructure Alerting Program – City of Vancouver’s Experiences during the 2010 Olympic Games
Vancouver, B.C., – May 14, 2010 – EmerGeo Solutions Worldwide Inc. (TSX-V: EMG), a global leader in the development of emergency management software, is pleased to announce an upcoming webinar “Building Disaster Resiliency through an Integrated Critical Infrastructure Alerting Program – City of Vancouver’s Experiences during the 2010 Olympic Games”, presented by Daniel Stevens, Manager of Emergency Planning, City of Vancouver.
One of the greatest challenges for every emergency manager is mitigating risk for those critical infrastructure and facilities we rely on every day. Many of these facilities are un-manned so when an incident or hazard nearby threatens these assets, often the critical infrastructure owner and emergency management personnel are notified after a disruption occurs – when an early warning could have given them time to mitigate any adverse consequences.
This webinar will focus on these challenges and how the City of Vancouver created an integrated real-time Common Operating Picture technology that automates the process of delivering timely notifications of threats. Mr. Stevens will share some of the challenges and lessons learned in this GeoConnections funded project.
Please join us on May 25th at 10am PST, 1pm EST for this live event. See Details
