Envitia welcomes Alex Brooker to the Consultancy Team

Envitia is pleased to announce a new member of the growing consultancy team, Alex Brooker.  Alex’s expertise in the development and deployment of spatial data infrastructure solutions adds further experienced resource in this area where our new services based geospatial products are being successfully adopted.

 Alex joined Envitia from BAE Systems Insyte where he lead the SOA and virtualisation technology research in the creation of the Common Information System Infrastructure (CISI) – a plug and play component based SOA with full Spatial Data Infrastructure capability for use across the BAE Systems businesses. 

 
Alex has a strong background in geospatial software in the maritime domain, leading the delivery of the chart software embedded within in Combat Management Systems used across the entire Royal Navy fleet, supporting the display of ENC and AML data to the warfighter. He also led the SOA element of the F35 Joint Strike Fighter UK de-risking activities undertaken at the Maritime Integration and Support Centre in Portsmouth, UK.

 Most recently, Alex has been supporting Envitia’s activities under the Common Geospatial Tool Set research programme, alongside his role as a trusted technical adviser within a NATO technical panel investigating the use and discovery of services within disadvantaged grids.
