Zoombak New A-GPS Enabled iPhone App Allows Users to Locate and Track More Quickly and Accurately

November 13, 2009 By Editor

NEW YORK—Zoombak (http://www.zoombak.com) the leader in Personal GPS tracking devices that let consumers track the things that are most important to them – from children to teenage drivers to employees and automobiles – today launched the Zoombak mobile app for the Apple iPhone.

The new Apple iPhone app lets consumers locate their Zoombak tracking devices using Advanced GPS technology (A-GPS). A-GPS technology combines GPS and cell phone technology for faster and more accurate locates.

Zoombak users can use the iPhone app to find their Zoombak devices on-demand in real-time. When a user clicks "Find Now", the current location of the selected device is displayed on a map, along with detailed location information including street address, speed, direction and latitude/longitude. Zoombak users can view the location in three different map views on their iPhone: Digital Map, Satellite View or a Hybrid of the two.

In addition, the Zoombak iPhone app allows users to follow the real-time location of their device with "Continuous Tracking". When a user clicks on "Continuous Tracking", they will begin continuously tracking their device in five minute intervals. As the Zoombak device moves, Continuous Tracking will push regular notifications to the users’ iPhone, automatically alerting them to the latest location.

"The Zoombak iPhone app puts the speed and accuracy of A-GPS enabled location in the palm of your hand," said Simon Buckingham, CEO of Zoombak. "We have now given our customers with iPhones another option for locating their Zoombak devices while on the go. It is now easier than ever to help people keep track of their loved ones and important belongings."

Zoombak customers can locate their device in real-time several ways – from the Zoombak website, by sending an SMS message to the device and now with the iPhone App.

The Zoombak iPhone App is free to download from the Apple App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/app/zoombak-gps-tracker/id338119517?mt=8) and lets Zoombak customers locate their device(s) in real-time, on-demand from Apple iPhone and iPod touch devices.
