Don’t want your mashup to look like a Google Map, consider Drupal Nice Map

October 1, 2009 By Editor

Thinking of developing a nice map mashup or simple webmap… consider Drupal!

I recently stumbled onto details of the Drupal NiceMap module which essentially acts as a WMS client that integrates with Views. In this blog post the developer explains that while Google maps are popular and simple to use (relatively) its not always the perfect solution, particularly if you don’t want your maps to look like a Google maps site.. .enter Nice Maps. Check out this blog and see also this fine example of a Drupal map service they developed for showing off DC night life hot spots mashup up with crime data so users could head out at night safely.. very slick!
