Fredericton, NB, Canada — November 15, 2005 — CARIS, a leader in software solutions to transform spatial data into information for effective decision making, today announced that the first release of is next generation suite of products for bathymetric data management.
CARIS BASE Editor 1.0 has been released to enable users to compile, validate and analyze source bathymetry. Users import BASE surfaces and data from a variety of third party sources to perform functions for 3D visualization and fly-through, subset area editing and surface comparison. Tools such as surface generalization and defocusing allow for the easy generation of smoothed contours, depth areas, and selected soundings for use in chart production.
BASE Editor is a stand alone application in the Bathy DataBASE suite of products. Bathy DataBASE represents a data management system for source bathymetry. It is used to create and manage bathymetric surfaces generated from full density soundings. It allows users to validate, prepare and compile bathymetric data from multiple formats and sources to create product surfaces.
