Arizona UAS Summit Adds Tour of Polytechnic School at ASU to Program Agenda

October 12, 2017 By GISuser

Produced by UAS Magazine and in partnership with the Arizona Regional Economic Development Foundation

Mesa, AZ – (October 11, 2017) – – Last week, the 2nd Annual Arizona UAS Summit & Expo announced they have added an industry tour to the program agenda. The specialized tour is designed specifically for the attendees of the Arizona UAS Summit and will provide opportunities for attendees to visit with the brightest and best researchers, faculty, students and experts at the award-winning Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at the Polytechnic School on the campus of Arizona State University.

The tour will provide guests access to four separate sessions and tour stops—each highlighting the work being done to train future pilots of manned and unmanned aircraft on earth and in space. And, at the additive manufacturing lab, guests will have the chance to see how cutting-edge materials are being implemented into automated processes, robotics and aerospace applications.

“The tour of ASU’s award-winning facility is a great addition to the conference,” says Luke Geiver, Managing Editor of UAS Magazine. “Guests will be able to get a closer look at the training of future unmanned aerial pilots and cutting- edge technology ASU provides on campus.”

The tour will take place from 1:30pm-4:30pm on Monday, November 6th. The four tour stops will include:

  • Sitting in the seat of an air traffic controller
  • A behind-the-scenes look at a flight simulator operation and lab
  • Learning about the Hyperloop, an ASU student project on the transport of the future and Space-X
  • Finding out which additive and advanced manufacturing methods are being used in automation, robotics, and aerospace.

This tour will highlight the future of the UAS industry and will be a precursor to the start of the Arizona UAS Summit & Expo that will highlight the crucial storylines and emerging trends shaping the unmanned aircraft systems industry on the national and Southwest U.S. regions.
