Additional sales support will help clients quickly implement geospatial and asset management solutions
BOSTON, MA. Novara GeoSolutions (Novara) (www.novarageo.com), a leading geospatial software and services company and an Esri business partner, today announced it has hired a director of sales to further expand operations. Opdahl will be responsible for leading the expansion of Novara geospatial solutions within the US. Mr. Opdahl will also be responsible for a growing team of sales professionals dedicated to serving Novara’s expanding client base.
Mr. Jake Opdahl brings a strong background in strategic account management, business development, sales team management, GIS analysis, assessment and implementation, GPS and related technologies, and field data collection. Over the past decade, he has utilized his technical and business acumen to provide effective consultation and solutions to address complex challenges organizations face around spatial asset management. Opdahl is an adamant advocate for his clients’ interests, actively seeking out innovative and effective ways to influence success. He has experience in a variety of industries, such as oil & gas pipeline, gas distribution, electrical distribution and transmission, municipal GIS systems, and military base GIS.
Before moving into a business development role, Opdahl’s past experience included being a GIS analyst, field technician and technical support analyst both the public and private sector. “Having a technical geospatial background helps me work with clients in understanding the technical requirements and common issues and obstacles that they face in their jobs.” Says Jake Opdahl, he goes on to add, “Everything from GIS based database management, PODS data model, power use of ArcMap is within my wheelhouse. My experience in GPS based field data collection has also been helpful, along with a past technical support role because it involved trouble shooting/critical thinking and problem solving. All of this experience now serves me to connect with my clients and help them create extensible solutions that meet the most unique needs.”
