Company Honored for Design of Boral Bricks Manufacturing Plant
MCLEAN, Va. and SAN DIEGO, Nov 11, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ — Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced that its wholly owned design-build subsidiary Benham has received the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) 2009 National Excellence Award for the design and construction of the Boral Bricks manufacturing plant in Terre Haute, Ind.
Boral is the largest manufacturer of and distributor of clay brick in the United States, and the 295,000-square-foot Indiana plant is the largest brick manufacturing facility in the U.S. DBIA is an association of leaders in the design and construction industry utilizing design-build and integrated project delivery methods to achieve high performance projects. The award was presented at the DBIA’s 2009 Conference and Expo in Washington, D.C.
