Canada GeoTiffs

Geotiffs can be directly imported into most GIS programs including Autocad, Mapinfo, Arcview, Manifold, PCI Geomatics etc. The format can also be imported into GPS mapping programs OziExplorer, Fugawi, Memory Map, Gypsy Pro(Mac), Mac GPS Pro(Mac). Check the programs for their ability to import Geotiffs or DRGS.

Canada National Road Network File

The Road Network File (RNF), 2005, is the first official release from the 2006 Census Geography suite of products and services. The RNF is a digital representation of Canada’s national road network, containing information such as street name, type, direction and address ranges.

CanImage GeoTIFF files

CanImage is distributed as RGB (red, green, blue) GeoTIFF files. GeoTIFF file sizes for a three-band combination are between 15 and 20 Mb. File compression (.zip) reduces the size by approximately 50%. PKZIP compression software is used to reduce file size. Files are delivered via File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
