Alcohol, on the other hand, triggers the body to produce more adenosine after drinking, which helps you fall asleep more quickly. However, as soon as you stop drinking, your body stops producing adenosine, which increases your likelihood of waking up during the night. Additionally, it prevents Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep, which is frequently regarded as the most critical stage of restorative sleep.

Create A Relaxing Environment

Your bedroom should be a place of rest and relaxation. Creating a calming environment can help you fall asleep. Here are a few tips to help you create a relaxing bedroom:

  1. Keep your room dark and cool. The ideal sleeping temperature is between 60-67 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Remove all distractions from your room. This includes televisions, phones, laptops, and tablets.
  3. Use calming colors in your bedroom. Soft blues, greens, and pinks can help promote relaxation.
  4. Hang blackout curtains or use an eye mask to block out light from windows or streetlights.
