Laravel - why programmers love this PHP framework

What is Laravel?

In 2011 another PHP framework appeared on the market, namely Laravel, and you didn’t have to wait long for its huge growth in popularity among programmers. It works with the Model View Controller structure. The universality and functionality of Laravel have translated into many additional services. We are talking about a framework, which consists of numerous tools that simplify the process of application implementation and maintenance. Some ready-made solutions are also available. Taylor Otwell is considered to be the author of Laravel. The framework is based on the Open Source license, which means that every programmer can use it for free. It has a structured code structure, which is a plus due to its easy update. The new functionalities do not require any plugins, everything can be coded directly into the source code.

What are the advantages of Laravel, what is the reason for its popularity on a global scale?

Developers enjoy programming at Laravel very much because of its great flexibility, the ability to adapt to individual goals and structure, and free personalisation. Another advantage is the secure authorization, you don’t have to worry about unauthorized access to protected content. It is also protected against XSS, CSRF and SQL attacks. You can count on the integration of e-mail services, which translates into action on many channels. Laravel is developing very dynamically, which greatly facilitates the creation of new applications. There are many sets of libraries available, which guarantees many functionalities. With Laravel, you can count on a faster introduction of the product to the market for companies. Applications can be developed on different levels of application due to the interaction of this framework with MCV. It is even possible to reuse the code, i.e. use existing modules.

Laravel is considered to be the framework of the future because it gives great possibilities to create applications, quickly adapts to current market changes. It is considered to be the best framework to use without any additional fees. It is easy to understand and learn. With its help, you can use many proven elements from existing frameworks. It combines the features of Symfony, CodeIgniter and Yii. The source code itself is easy to read and manage, so if there is a mistake, finding it is not a problem. High scalability translates into easier development and adaptation to market needs. Several dozens of built-in libraries and modules help to improve the application.

To sum up, the advantages of this framework include programmer-friendliness, MVC support, flexibility, clear code, testing, dependency management, security, blade template system, documentation, debugging and delineation, authentication, low costs, simplicity. Also worth mentioning is the Artisan command line, which speeds up work and Eloquent for database design.

What are the alternatives in the PHP framework world for Laravel?

Laravel is not the only solution, there are much more. One of the fastest frameworks, Symfony, is very popular. Where performance is a priority, it works perfectly. The advantages include easy configurability, regardless of the type of project. The Zend framework is more complicated, so more experienced programmers use it. It is valued primarily for its enormous performance, numerous improvements, the ability to debug code online, and a multitude of modules. Beginner programmers can recommend CakePHP, which is perfect for creating based web applications. It is a powerful framework that supports many design patterns. Among the most popular PHP frameworks, there is also Yii, most often used to create modern web applications. Social networking sites, CMS and discussion forums are based on it.
