Geography 2050 Accepting Poster Submissions and Lightning Talks
May 6, 2019 Events

Here’s an exciting opportunity to present at theGeography 2050: Borders and a Borderless World Fall Symposium on November 21 and 22, 2019.

This year’s Symposium will focus on how geography and geospatial science impact the role of borders in our future economy, environment, and geopolitical situation. We are excited to bring you a program full of border specialists, ranging from the academic realm to government officials to business leaders.

The American Geographical Society is currently accepting Poster Proposals and Lightning Talks. Posters will be on full display for both days of the Symposium. Lightning Talks will be scheduled into the program on either of the two days and should be no longer than 5 minutes. We want you to engage the audience with a related topic you’re passionate about.

Proposals for posters are due in June and proposals for Lightning Talks are due in August. If you or your colleagues are working on topics relevant to the conference themes, this is a great opportunity to participate in.  This year’s themes are:

  • The World Map in 2050
  • Geospatial Technology and the Mapping of Future Borders
  • Fences, Walls and People on the Move
  • Globalization and Trade
  • International Organization and Disorganization
  • The Natural World and the Border
  • Spaces Beyond the State
