SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 2, 2014—Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today that its Enterprise Forest Management™ software has been implemented by City Forests Ltd, based in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Enterprise Forest Management provides a robust platform for managing asset inventory as well as creating and evaluating strategic and operational plans for short and long-term planning windows. The software identifies which actions need to happen and where they need to happen. The software also allows managers to schedule activities, plan and manage budgets and allocate resources. Maps and related spatial data are combined with the plans to provide a thorough perspective on land-based activities and costs.
"After careful consideration, City Forests selected Trimble’s Enterprise Forest Management software for managing our spatial and non-spatial forest information" said Peter Oliver, City Forests’ general manager of Forest Assets. "We particularly liked the software’s potential to be tailored to our existing business structure, but also the excellent possibilities it offered for eventually incorporating other key business processes in a single integrated solution. As practitioners, we needed a solution that was not only able to handle the full complexities of a commercial forest plantation business in a thorough and sophisticated way, yet was also intuitive enough to be used on a daily basis by non-specialist staff. We were also impressed by the breadth of Trimble’s international forestry client base, its excellent customer support, and robust development program backing up the product."
Trimble’s Enterprise Forest Management software is available now through its Forestry Division. For more information about Trimble’s Forest Management solutions, call 1-604-697-6400, email ForestrySales@trimble.com or visit www.trimble.com/forestry.
