17 February 2010 – CloverPoint uses Insight to deliver UBC’s 3D Information System – UBC’s Campus Simulation Information System (CSIS) is a web-based modular Master Planning Tool that brings the best of GIS, 3D technology and enterprise management together to create a new dimension for management.
Built on CloverPoint’s Insight framework the 3D module enables an immersive experience in property management. And unlike present 3D model presentations whether physical or digital, CSIS’s 3D system is dynamic, enabling changes made to the model on the fly and is optimized for the presentation of whole 3D communities.
CSIS’s 3D model enables stakeholders to securely manage what the users see, walk through the community and into the buildings. Insight’s framework presented a cost effective tool for mapping this virtual community, from the inside of buildings (floor plans, furniture/equipment placement and furnishing) to piping and engineering elements to external features like lighting and shadow studies. This is the next step in presentations to stakeholder groups.
