OpenGeo recently announced that it has hired noted geospatial industry leader Eddie Pickle to enhance its business development and marketing leadership and help manage its growing worldwide client and partner base.

Mr. Pickle brings over 25 years of experience in geospatial solutions to his role as Director of Business Development at OpenGeo. He formerly served as Chief Operating Officer of IONIC Enterprise, an industry leader in developing OGC standards-based software and introducing it to US markets. Previously, Eddie served as Executive Vice President of Sales & Client Service at Claritas, now part of AC Nielsen, where he directed geospatial applications for enterprises worldwide. Eddie will lead the Business Development and Marketing Teams at OpenGeo, and he work to enhance the support that OpenGeo provides to users of the OpenGeo Suite.
