May 19, 2009 By Editor

Alexandria, Va. – May 19, 2009 – Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of IT, geospatial, engineering, and program management solutions, today announced the opening of a new office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

The new location will enhance customer service, accommodate growth and create efficiencies when planning and deploying projects throughout Canada. Avineon Canada will enhance overall IT, geospatial, and engineering services production capabilities and support the company’s sustained yearly growth of 30 percent during the past seven years.  The new office will support Avineon’s commercial division, which serves state and local government as well as commercial companies.

"We welcome the opportunity the new office affords us to work more closely with our existing and potential Canadian customers," said Gary Wilkison, Senior Vice President of Commercial Systems with Avineon. "We expect continued growth for engineering support services in the market and a steady demand for GIS implementation and maintenance services from Canadian utilities."

Immediate business goals for Avineon Canada include growing the company’s customer base within Canada for the company’s engineering, IT, and geospatial services. Avineon anticipates hiring local management staff to serve as an interface between Canadian customers and technicians in its U.S. and India development offices. As part of its global growth initiatives, Avineon is also considering expansion into Australia and New Zealand later this year.
