Delaware’s capital city joins municipalities, utilities worldwide in adopting Telvent’s Geographic Information System
Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, announced today that The City of Dover, the capital city of the U.S. state of Delaware, is the 400th site to choose the ArcFMT Solution. In the last 20 months, Telvent’s utility group has signed agreements with 100 new ArcFM users -seeing approximately one new user each week adopt the system.
The ArcFM Solution is a complete utility GIS solution based on the industry-leading ESRI ArcGISr platform. As an application suite, it provides a family of products and tools for editing, modeling, maintaining, and managing facility asset information – both on the desktop and in the field – for electric, gas, and water/wastewater utilities. ArcFM products support mapping, mobile viewing and editing, staking, design, and network and outage management and have demonstrated their value in streamlining business processes throughout the utility.
The City of Dover was looking to migrate to an ESRI-based GIS. Other considerations in the city’s decision to choose the ArcFM Solution included the significant data migration experience offered by the Telvent utility group and the solution’s tools for managing not only electric facilities but also assets such as fiber.
The city joins municipalities and utilities across the United States and in 45 countries worldwide in adopting the ArcFM GIS Solution. The regard for Telvent’s GIS around the world is a result not only of the product itself but also of Telvent services that successfully translate industry requirements into working solutions for this large client base. Along with Telvent’s strong network of Business Partners who offer services and products complementary to the ArcFM Solution, Telvent provides organizations with solutions to industry-specific challenges and solves them in ways that are complete, comprehensive, and production ready.
"Our user growth rate speaks to the strength and quality of the Telvent and ESRI technology," said Andy Bennett, chief operating officer of Telvent’s GIS business. "ArcFM has become the market leader and will continue to expand further with Telvent’s global presence. By continually listening to our user groups and investing in research and development, our users benefit from the functionality they need, and both the solution and community will grow. We are very excited to welcome The City of Dover as our 400th user."
