Munsys, Inc. announced – strengthening the support for Munsys® products in North America.

Florida, USA, April 3, 2007 – Open Spatial, Inc. a geospatial consultancy for utilities and government and supplier of the Munsys® products, today announced that it is changing its name to Munsys, Inc. The new name will better reflect the company’s mission as the primary provider of sales, services, and technical support for the Munsys product range.

Although the Munsys products have only been available in North America for a couple of years, Open Spatial, Inc has already established a strong base of significant reference customers using Munsys products. Changing the company name to Munsys, Inc. will make it easier to identify the products and the company that supplies and supports them in the North American market.

The Munsys, Inc. company name now denotes the core Munsys software as well as the services already being provided to Munsys users. This range of services includes:

• Munsys implementation
• Data migration and conversion
• Support and training
• System integration
• Database administration

“The name change to Munsys more accurately reflects our company’s mission to bring to market a comprehensive off the shelf solution that meets the mapping and asset management needs of small to medium utilities and local governments,” says Chris Tolken, President of Munsys, Inc.

“This segment of the market has the same requirements of the larger organizations, but typically doesn’t have the budget or IT staff to build it themselves. Having an affordable yet tried and tested ‘out of the box’ solution is a huge benefit for these organizations.”

The Munsys® solutions include a central database with pre-defined Oracle® Spatial data models and integrated applications for the management of water, sewer, drainage, cadastral, roads and electricity infrastructure. Autodesk® design products are utilized for spatial data creation and editing. Traditional GIS software and other databases are easily integrated using OpenGIS® and gateway technologies.
