Geotiffs can be directly imported into most GIS programs including Autocad, Mapinfo, Arcview, Manifold, PCI Geomatics etc. The format can also be imported into GPS mapping programs OziExplorer, Fugawi, Memory Map, Gypsy Pro(Mac), Mac GPS Pro(Mac). Check the programs for their ability to import Geotiffs or DRGS.
All Geotiff images are .tif format, WGS84, 8bit colour, 150dpi, with collars removed, complete with World file(.tfw).
