Telmap to develop optimized services for both Operator and Enterprise customers
Herzelia, Israel, 13-16 February 2006 – Telmap (www.telmap.com), a world-leading provider of mobile Mapping and Navigation solutions, today announced that it has officially joined the Research in Motion (RIM) Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Alliance Program. The membership agreement provides Telmap with broad opportunities to develop mobile navigation applications for BlackBerry(r) on behalf of mobile operator and enterprise customers.
As an official member of the Alliance Program, Telmap is working to optimize the Telmap Navigator mobile mapping and navigation solution for BlackBerry customers in Europe.
“The signing of this agreement with RIM is an important juncture for Telmap,” said Oren Nissim, CEO of Telmap. “Our rights to address both operators and enterprises enable us to create compelling applications for BlackBerry users.
With BlackBerry we have a perfect match because BlackBerry devices are designed for the same people that Telmap Navigator benefits most – business people who need to easily get to meetings around town and in distant cities and countries.”
The RIM agreement is part of Telmap’s aggressive push to extend the Telmap Navigator solution to multiple mobile platforms. The solution now supports Java, Symbian and BlackBerry platforms, with support for additional platforms to come soon. Telmap Navigator will be demonstrated on a BlackBerry device at the 3GSM World Congress, February 13-16, at the Telmap stand (hall 1, stand C61) and at the BlackBerry stand (hall 8, stand B42).
