FRANKFORT, Ky., Jan. 24, 2006—PlanGraphics, Inc. (Pk: PGRA), has begun work on two new projects:
For the City of Frankfort, Ky., PlanGraphics has begun the development of a strategic information technology (IT) implementation plan. The company is assessing the IT needs of all City departments and will develop an “enterprise” plan to guide future IT implementation.
Project tasks include education and project initiation; detailed information gathering; needs assessment and the development of the IT strategic implementation plan.
For the Louisville, Ky., Community Resource Network (CRN), PlanGraphics is designing a Web-based application that will serve as an on-line clearinghouse—or “data mart”—for a wide variety of community and social services information and resources.
Current phases of the project include data discovery to match current data inventory with architecture for development of a framework for sharing data.
“These are both very interesting projects,” said Carl Spongberg, head of PlanGraphics’ GeoSpatial Services Group. “They highlight the breadth of our capabilities in helping communities get real benefits from their investments in information technology.”
PlanGraphics, founded in 1979, is a full life-cycle systems integration and implementation firm providing a broad range of services in the design and implementation of information technology in the public and commercial sectors.
