COALVILLE, England– Sept. 23, 2004–BlueSky (www.bluesky-world.com) has begun photographing central England from the air as part of a 10,000 square kilometre aerial survey to produce highly detailed imagery.
The new aerial survey extends from Nottinghamshire to Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.
The ambitious project will create a seamless digital photo-map with a 12.5cm pixel resolution on the ground – the most detailed survey ever undertaken over such an extensive area. Road markings, footpaths, garden flower beds and even people walking the street can be seen.
Processed in digital form, the new imagery will be fully ortho-rectified using the latest navigational technology and detailed land height mapping to provide a highly accurate dataset. Ideal for use within computer mapping and geographic information systems (GIS), a key use will be as a layer matched to Ordnance Survey digital maps including the new OS MasterMap product.
As well as aerial photography, BlueSky also provide other remote sensing services and data such as LIDAR, 3D cityscape and landscape visualisations, oblique aerial photography, image capture and processing services, photogrammetry, plus format and media conversion.
