HazardMaps.GOV is FEMA’s site for public access to online hazard advisory maps of various types, including earthquake, hurricane, and flood. The site is a product of the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration’s Multihazard Mapping Initiative.
Through this initiative, FEMA seeks to improve public awareness and hazard mitigation planning. In addition to supplying multihazard maps, this initiative is exploring cutting-edge techniques to assemble maps on demand from a variety of online data sources.
The site also includes a Data Exchange in which map data can be uploaded or downloaded to foster the exchange and collection of geospatial hazards information.
Data layers available for viewing include ZIP codes, DOQQs, Q3 flood data, DFIRM flodd hazard areas, and more.
