DMTI Spatial Recognized for Achieving Excellence in Geospatial Technology Commercialization
RICHMOND HILL, ON—June 11, 2018—DMTI Spatial, Canada’s market leader in location intelligence and data quality, has been inducted into the TECTERRA Hall of Fame for successful completion of the organization’s Industry Investment project and for achieving excellence in technology commercialization. TECTERRA is a government-funded non-profit organization that assists Canadian geospatial technology companies to develop and commercialize technology. The Hall of Fame is an award presented each year to companies that have successfully developed and commercialized innovative technologies supported by TECTERRA’s programs and that have repaid their outstanding obligation to TECTERRA.
“We are excited to induct DMTI Spatial into the TECTERRA Hall of Fame,” said Jonathan Neufeld, CEO of TECTERRA. “DMTI has demonstrated a commitment to the development and commercialization of innovative geospatial technology, and we are proud to have played a small role in the current success.”
TECTERRA’s support enabled DMTI Spatial to create, develop and effectively launch its Territory Builder product, a module available within DMTI Spatial’s Location Hub® Viewer solution that helps organizations define and manage geographical territories based on factors such as sales, infrastructure locations and service delivery zones.
“Many companies today are trying to manage territories by using spreadsheets, and they can’t visualize their boundaries or highlight areas that require attention,” said Robert Szyngiel, director of product management, DMTI Spatial. “Delivered via a browser-based portal, Territory Builder allows non-technical business users to quickly visualize territories, add new zones on the fly or modify territory assignees with a click of a button. TECTERRA’s support allowed us to more quickly bring this innovative solution to market.”
DMTI Spatial offers a suite of location intelligence solutions, including CanMap® and LocationHub®, powered by a proprietary database that is continuously updated via more than 7,300 unique data sources. DMTI offers the most comprehensive source of Canadian geolocation data and high precision addresses, trusted by many of the country’s largest private and public sector organizations. In 2017, DMTI Spatial was acquired by Digital Map Products, based in Irvine, Calif., the leading provider of cloud-based location technology and content solutions that bring the power of spatial technology to over 350,000 mainstream business, government and consumer users in North America.
