Enhanced with NAVTEQ Natural Guidance™ and NAVTEQ Traffic™ features, iGO primo Russia edition gives instructions in a more natural way and helps drivers to avoid time loss in congestion.
Moscow, Russia – NNG LLC, a leading navigation solution provider, is offering more intuitive navigation to manufacturers and users of PND and aftermarket devices in Russia by licensing NAVTEQ Natural Guidance. In response to customer needs, NAVTEQ Natural Guidance™ in iGO primo debuts in Russia, and along with the NAVTEQ Traffic™ service it is expected to provide an outstanding user experience to Russian drivers. These new features distinguish iGO primo navigation software, and are expected to give an advantage to the company on the Russian market.
The NAVTEQ Traffic™ service delivers information on traffic speed, accidents and road closures, enabling iGO primo navigation software to avoid congested roads and provide more accurate arrival time estimates. With the ability to determine traffic incidents with a high degree of accuracy in mild and heavy congestion, this feature is very helpful for driving in cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg, where several hundred traffic jams occur every day. NAVTEQ Traffic™ has extensive coverage, including over 29,000 km of roads and 10 major cities in Russia.
Like the real-time traffic service, (NAVTEQ Traffic™), NAVTEQ Natural Guidance™ is created to enhance the driving experience – this time by generating directions the way a friend does instead of through linear instructions. “Turn left before the green building” is an example how this intuitive and practical feature uses reference points such as landmarks, churches, bridges, monuments and other buildings. Russia is the very first country to have iGO primo software with NAVTEQ Natural Guidance™, and the solution is now being implemented for other countries as well.
“We have an excellent relationship with NNG encompassing many different applications in locations around the globe and I am delighted we are also now involved in this exciting launch in Russia,” commented Claude Martane, VP Sales Russia CIS and Balkans, at Nokia, Location & Commerce. “By combining best in class navigation with superior map content and services we are together offering state of the art navigation across both the consumer and automotive sectors.” “The integration of these leading location-based services in iGO primo enables us to pursue promising business opportunities in Russia, which is a prominent market for both of our companies. We are happy to offer such pioneering fresh features for Russian business partners and end-users alike,” said Péter Rimár, Regional Sales Manager at NNG LLC.
